Aliso Men’s Lacrosse Comeback Comes Too Late
Aliso Niguel Men's Lacrosse loses to cross-town rival Dana Hills 13-11.
The Aliso Niguel High School Men’s Lacrosse team came up short against Dana Hills 13-11 Tuesday at Wolverine Stadium.
Dana Hills came out firing with seven goals in the first quarter. Three of those goals came from Attackman Matt Bamford. Aliso managed to get three goals of their own but was trailing 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. Dana kept finding holes in the Wolverine defense and put up another three goals in the second quarter. The Dolphins went into halftime with a 10-5 lead. Three players went into halftime with a hat trick: Matt Bamford and Will Daniel for the Dolphins and Nolan Werner for the Wolverines.
Aliso picked it up in the second half. Jordyn Williams and new varsity player Connor Reed were all over the field racking up ground balls for the Wolverines. Dolphin Midfielder Alex Rainey put up two goals in a one-minute span after a controversial penalty against the Wolverines. After Rainey’s goals the Wolverines stepped up. Four Aliso players put up five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter. Chris Carmody, Ryan Lawler, Nolan Werner and Jordyn Williams eached scored for the Wolverines in the fourth. Unfortunately for the Wolverines, they started their run too late and the clock ran out with a Dolphin victory 13-11.

Aliso Niguel (4-5,1-1) will travel to Capo Valley High School for a league game against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dana Hills (7-3, 1-1) will travel to El Toro High School for a league game against the Chargers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Aliso Niguel Lady Wolverines will host Capo Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
