Men’s Lacrosse Gets Needed Win

Aliso Niguel Men's Lacrosse blows out San Juan Hills 14-4.

Aliso Niguel Men’s Lacrosse picked up a much-needed league victory over the San Juan Hills Stallions on Tuesday at Wolverine Stadium.

The Wolverines were on a three game losing streak and needed a victory Tuesday to keep their playoff hopes alive. Aliso came out motivated and determined. Senior Attackman Nolan Werner scored for the Wolverines just 38 seconds into the game.  Stallions Attackman Jackson Davis answered back with a goal, just minutes after to tie the game up at one.  Both teams tacked on another goal to end the first quarter with a 2-2 score.

Aliso went into the half up 5-4.  Michael Traub and Nolan Werner combined for all of the Wolverines’ five goals. Other notable first half performances include San Juan Hills Goalie James Garwood having eight saves in the half.  Aliso Long Stick Midfielder Connor Reed had a season high eight ground balls in the first half as well.

The Stallions failed to score the remainder of the game.  Nolan Werner and other Aliso Captain Ryan Dale each put up goals early in the third quarter to extend the lead.  Chris Carmody and Michael Traub also scored for the Wolverines in the third quarter.

The Wolverines kept scoring in the fourth.  Midfielders Kevin Cracchiolo and Stevie Barron each put up a goal early in the quarter.  After Barron’s goal Aliso Coach Pat Jenkins called upon some of the reserve players and they delivered.  Seniors Noah Keen, Nick Rad, and Sammy Nabahani were able to keep possession and help drain the clock.  Late in the fourth Nolan Werner passed it to Sammy Nabahani for his first goal of the season.  Aliso managed to run the clock out to finish the game with a score of 14-4.
