Join City Officials for Summer Walking Program

The annual program aims to promote healthy lifestyles in Aliso Viejo's "walkable" community.

To embrace the “walkable” community of Aliso Viejo, residents are invited to join city representative for the annual Summer Walking Program, beginning July 2.

The program, which takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. July 2, 9, 16 and 23, makes the 2.8-mile trek around Aliso Viejo’s Town Center Loop Trail. Participants are encourage to park in the Walgreens parking lot at 26531 Aliso Creek Road by 5:50 p.m. Walgreens is partnering with the city for the walking program and will provide t-shirts and pedometers to the participants.

Past programs have welcomed between 15-45 participants, according to
Kelly Tokarski, community relations for the City of Aliso Viejo.

The area around Aliso Viejo's Town Center is considered a "walker's paradise," according to Walk Score, a website that measures how "walkable" a city is based on distance to amenities.
