Resident Recognized for Philanthropic Efforts

Marilyn Ditty will be honored during Orange County's National Philanthropy Day on Nov. 15.

Marilyn Ditty, of Aliso Viejo, will be honored during Orange County's National Philanthropy Day celebration on Nov. 15.

Ditty, who founded Age Well Senior Services—a regional provider of community-based services—will be honored as this year's Outstanding Founder for her philanthropic efforts.

Age Well Senior Services operates in 17 south Orange County cities and has served 85,000 low-to middle-income seniors for more than 33 years in O.C.

On a daily level, Age Well Senior Services provides "1,800 seniors daily with educational, nutritional, recreational, social and human services, and serves 500,000 meals annually through Meals on Wheels," according to a company press release.

  • “Woman of the Year” by the California State Senate
  • Served as a delegate to the White House “Conference on Aging”
  • Presented at the “International Federation on Aging” conferences in Australia, Singapore and Copenhagen
  • Served on the United Nations Committee for the U.S. on behalf of older adults

The National Philanthropy Day celebration in O.C. is scheduled for Nov. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Orange County—located at 11999 Harbor Blvd in Garden Grove, CA.
